Here's some information we would like you to know. We like to sprayBBJ Biocide enzymes on your coil, at the end of the summer when the mold buildup is at its peak.  This enzyme kills and treats the mold long term. There is a coil (radiator) on topof your Furnance, or inside your Air Handler ( fan blower) if it is a heat pump system. It stays wet all summer long, while it removes the moisture and contaminants from the air( thats how air conditioning works). Unfortuneately this coil (radiatior) has mold all over it and when you turn on the furnance, you dry up all the black mold and it blows through your house all winter long. This mold can put a strain on your immune system, because your respiratory system breathes in andout 20,000 times per day. Processing approximately 5,400 cubic feet of air per day. So your lungs have to filter not only particles by encapsulationg them in mucus but has to continually dedicate immune system resources to deal with the ongoing problem. Pleated filters 1" wide to 4" wide are a great way to eliminate a lot of problems themselves. However, if you sufferfrom lengthly colds, mold allergies, asthma, etc.  an Ultra Violet Light installed in the duct work can give your immune system a chance to catch up and strengthen for the next days activities. By running your fan all the time (go to your thermostat and turn the "fan on")  you will be running all the air in your home through the furnance filter (pleated) and UV light about 288 times a day.  Its amazing to see how easy and inexpensive it can be to have clean air in your home and suffer so much.
We install fan driven humidifiers to maintain 50% relative humidity. This keeps airborne allergens to their minimum. Most installations are $495.00

FACTS ABOUT RUSTED FURNACES AND CARBON MONOXIDE
Each year carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning kills individuals and families while they sleep. approximately 20,000 people go to the hospital each year and the industry suspects as many as 100,000 people suffer undiagnosed.  That's why you see CO detectors are on the market.
CO is a colorless and odorless gas. No one can smell or sense the presence of CO in the home. A CO test using a calibrated CO analyzer is the appropiate method of determining if you and your family are at risk now or in the future from this deadly gas.
Children are especially susceptible to carbon monoxide. They may have symptoms that adults will not have or recognize. Brain damage from continued exposure can be devastating to families, and can cause the onset of many brain disorders.
When a furnance starts rusting and flaking, it causes an air flow disturbance in the heat exchanger which in turn makes the gas flames appear yellow instead of blue. This yellow flame produces the CO gas. The rusting does not stop and continues to deteriorate the thin metal which is approximately 1/16 of an inch or less thickness.
Once a furnance begins to develop rust, it is only a matter of time until it develops a crack or small pinholes in the heat exchanger. Sometimes you will hear a "boom" sound coming from the furnance.  This is commonly referred as a "flame roll out". This blockage continues and can spill out CO in the home.
Only buy a carbon monoxide alarm that has a digital readout (0.0).  Do not buy one that is an alarm only. By the time it goes off its too late.
